The current owners, Dave and Alicia Ballard, purchased the restaurant in the summer of 2012. Both were current employees, though Dave had been employed quite a bit longer, almost 15 years. He knew the ins and outs of the business and had the same high standards that Chris kept to. They have carried on the unique menu and standard of no preprocessed frozen foods.
The Peppery Gar & Brill opened October 1, 1994. Sonora was its birthplace, but our original location was a quarter mile west on Mono Way. The original owners, Chris & Debbie Perry, inverted the G & B to send a message that our menu would be unique. Their vision was to create a fun dining experience where the menu was fresh and different. They wanted each and every item to come alive with flavor. No preprocessed frozen food here.
The Peppery continues to strive for excellent food and service with a standard of no processed or frozen foods.
